Final Project

Below is a video of my final presentation from this course. It includes my philosophy on education, how the technologies we looked at this semester fit into that philosophy, and parent involvement.

Below is the power point presentation that I used to go along with the presentation above.

  3. Very nice & informative. I like how you went through and presented pros & cons to each tech you talked about. I appreciate how you spoke about using google doc, scaffolding learning, and creating student privacy. Also great point, teachers need to learn about THEIR students' cultures too! I will be looking into Project Explorer. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I love that about Google Docs -- being able to scaffold individually where needed. I've been investigating Google Classroom and it does seem like there are so many tricks.

I love how you weave a differentiation theme throughout your project.

Thank you for Decibel X. I have wanted such a thing but have not been able to come up with one. I like a collaborative classroom and often I don't notice how noisy it may get. This is very helpful. Adding to growth plan now...

This is such a well thought-out comprehensive list of innovative technology. Definitely 15 minutes well spent for me.

    Thank you Bruce!

  5. I like how you mention you want what your students are learning is meaningful! It sounds a lot easier than it actually is, but you showed how you can implement this in your own classroom. I am going to checkout Project Explorer, great tool. You mention throughout your presentation that its not just the students who are learning these important tools, but its also the teachers job to be more knowledgable and understanding. I find that so important and I loved your presentation!

  6. Bruce - I loved how you laid out pros and cons for each of your sections. I found iSeek particularly interesting. I like how the students will still need to learn proper search language, but I agree that learning how to seek out appropriate academic sources is an important skill that iSeek takes away.
